Central Extension Resources Development Institute (CERDI) is the apex training institute of Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) under the Ministry of Agriculture. The institute was established in 1975 with the collaboration of JICA and the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on 49 areas of land in a very charming and tranquil environment. In 1987 this institute was placed under revenue budget. This training institute caters for imparting training of BCS (Ag.) cadre officials and extension workers of different levels.
Since its inception, CERDI has been training the officers of DAE, autonomous and non-government organizations. The institute is headed by Executive Director (ED) followed by Three Deputy Director (DD) and they supervise three following units:
The institution has three community development centre (CDC) named Naojpur, Porabari and Bhabaneepur of Gazipur sadar upazilla used as field research and training centre created a new dimension in motivating the rural youth for self employment.
